Two Days on Barton Springs

Recently, while trying to find a specific slide to have scanned, I came across a stack of Polaroids apparently taken on two separate days last summer. The first was a trip to Barton Springs pool in the late day heat and the second was one of many occasions wasting a day away with the crew at Flipnotics. As I reviewed my find and thought about it a little I realized how unlikely these photos were. It is rare for me to be shooting film and even more so to be shooting instant film. I only had the camera because my roommate at the time was getting rid of it with a mostly full pack of film.

Looking back now, I see that informality and lightness that often comes out of photos you never intended to make. And to be honest, sitting here in New York City in winter, a part of me misses the warmth of these places and the people in them.
